Does anybody have any tips on using the Nars Night Series Mini Palette?
You can use each of the colors on their own or combine them for many different combinations of looks. In general, mid tones would be applied to the lid, darker colors in the crease and along the lash lines, and light colors along the brow bone as a highlighter. My number one choice for this combination would be Night Fairy on the inner half of the eyelid, blending into Night Rider on the outer half of the eyelid, with Night Clubbing in the crease and Night Snow as the highlight shade.
How many grams is the Nars Blush?
Just the normal powder one which costs 拢18.50.

What professional make-up brushes Chanel or Nars?
I'm a qualified Beauty Therapist and i'm wanting to undertake a course on how to apply fashion and photography make-up, which of the above brushes would you recommend me to purchase?What professional make-up brushes Chanel or Nars?
My advice is to buy brushes because you like the shape, tension, materials used etc. My brush kit has loads of different makes because I need the brushes to perform differently. For example I prefer a synthetic brush for blending so I have a medium brush for concealer, cream eyeshadow etc and a larger one for foundation, cream blusher etc. I like pony tail for powder and sable for powder eyeshadow. Makes range from Nars, Laura Mercier, Glauca Rossi, Ruby Hammer and I even have brushes from art shops. It sounds as though I have a lot of brushes but I have a pony tail brush and a sable one for powder, two blusher brushes - one rounded and one square edged, a small powder brush for nooks and crannies, two square tipped lipstick brushes, a large and two medium eyeshadow brushes, a square tipped eyeliner brush and a pointed liquid liner one, a small short haired brush for eye detail, a round bristle eyebrow/lash brush, a rounded sponge blending brush and a foundation brush and sponges - all kept in a leather brush roll with eyebrow tweezers.

Maybe a combination of different brushes would be a good idea, go to a department store with lots of make-up counters and test their brushes on the back of your hand with make-up so you can get a feel for which ones feel easier for you to use(some cheaper brushes can be surprisingly good), if you can't decide which ones to buy then I'd suggest Mac.
I would reccomed Bobbi Brown make up brushes - a television make up artist reccommened them to me and I wouldnt use anything else
Mac are going to be the best and the most affordable compared to Nars or Chanel.
Out of those two i'd say Chanel, although Bobbi Brown does excellent brushes, as do Mac, which i'd recommend more than the other 2.
none MAC make up brushes are amazing. ive used them for years!!

When you use a powder blush, use a little liquid foundation on your cheeks first. So no matter what color you choose, it'll show up and stay on so much better. I have never tried Nars, but I will tell you there is no difference between a $7 blush and a $40 blush. No. You are paying so much because this color has risen to cult status because of its unusual name. Many people, including me, find this color too bright and kind of scary on their skin. I paid $25.00 for the powder version about five years ago, and I hardly ever wear it. I don't recommend it. I recommend L'Oreal True Match Superblendable Blush in Innocent Flush. It's a beautiful color, and it only costs $10.00.
Depends on your coloring. I'm a MAC NC45 and the Orgasm blush barely shows up on me. But a friend of mine is MAC NC30 and it looks really pretty on her.

The multiple cream stick works really good and you can use it on your lips, eyes, and cheeks but if you have to get one or the other get the bronzer/orgasm powder blush. It lasts FOREVER. I wear it everyday and its lasted I think over a year now. It's beautiful, the light goldish pink accentuates the bronze and really defines your cheekbones and it doesnt rub off or look 'streaked' on. Trust me on this !!
I like the powder much better than the multiple ... it does not dry to a powder and it can be kinda greasy. Nothing dries to a powder that you can put on your lips. If you have oily skin or tend to breakout, the powder will be a better option. If you have drier skin, the multiple will be better for you.
The multiple is not cream to powder. It's a cream blush/lipstick/eyeshadow, but it doesn't turn to powder. Also, if you use it as a lipstick it's a bit drying.

You mentioned you wanted less intensity, but both these brands make very pigmented products, so when shopping, test the products to make sure they aren't too intense for you (some things don't look intense in the packaging, but they are when they're on), and when you use the product, just use a small amount, because MAC and NARS make very layerable products, so you can use a very small amount or a lot for a more severe look, which is obviously not what you are looking for.

My favorite brands for the following items are:
1. Lipstick= Lorac
I love Lorac's cream lipsticks. My favorite color is ';Baby Doll'; which is the best pale pink/ nude color I've ever found. I like that this lipstick doesn't dry my lips out because I have such dry lips. It also provides good coverage and lasts long unlike most others.
2. Lip Gloss= Smashbox
Their lip enhancing gloss is the best on the market. They come in three categories: True color, full color, and sheer color. Depending on what you want in a gloss, you choose from one of those categories. Full color is full coverage gloss on your lips. True color is well -true color! It looks just like it does in the tube. Sheer color is just well -sheer. It's like a tint of the color from the tube. These are extremely moisturizing and long lasting glosses. I love that with these glosses, what you see is what you get. You can never go wrong with these.
3. Blush= Nars
My favorite shade is ';Oasis'; although lots of people like ';Orgasm.'; This blush is perfect. It goes on smoothly and not ';splotchy'; like others. It's very easy to apply with little work because of the great formula.
4. Eyeliner= MAC
Honestly, I have not found my perfect pencil liner yet but the best so far has been MAC's fluidline, which is a gel liner. It's a hassle having to use it every day because it takes a little more work since I have to use a make-up brush but it stays put all day -on my waterline.
5. Mascara= YSL/ Prestige (for cheaper alternative)
The best mascara I've ever used is Yves Saint Laurent False Lash in the gold tube. I have the shortest, thinnest lashes ever and people often ask if I'm wearing fake lashes when I have this stuff on. It's lengthens, volumizes, and holds a good curl. I use NYC's $3 lash curler which for me, works better than my Shu Uemura one. My second favorite mascara is Prestige's ';My Biggest Lashes'; which is in a pink tube with black writing. This stuff measures up to the YSL, but the YSL is just slightly better. It does what the YSL will do for a cheaper price.
6. Eye Shadow= Nars %26amp; Lorac
All time favorite shadows are Nars and Lorac. They both are highly pigmented and come in the prettiest colors. I love neutrals and Lorac always has a wide variety of neutral shadows. They are super easy to blend and last a long time. For a primer, I recommend Too Faced ';Shadow Insurance.'; Urban Decay Primer Potion is good too but Primer Potion is more difficult to use due to their packaging. Too Faced is good for people with dry skin. Primer Potion is good for oily skin.

Urban Decay's collections are more youthful, due to the amount of sparkle and shimmer that they put into their products.
NARS and MAC are mostly the same and share the same wide variety of bold shades and gorgeous glosses.

MAC and NARS are definitely my favorite products...I find that NARS cream eyeshadows are really easy to apply and work really well, as opposed to Smashbox cream eyeshadows. Other than that, I like MAC for their face products and think they stay on really well. MAC has amazing colors to choose from and they probably would have the best selection.

MAC and NARS are definitely my favorite products...I find that NARS cream eyeshadows are really easy to apply and work really well, as opposed to Smashbox cream eyeshadows. Other than that, I like MAC for their face products and think they stay on really well. MAC has amazing colors to choose from and they probably would have the best selection.

I used to use DiorSkin Flawless but it looked dirty, caked-on, and uneven on my face.

i haven't tried trish mcevoy's, but i have tried the latter two. nars foundations are just okay for me.. they aren't bad, but i've tried MUCH better, especially for the price. laura mercier's foundations are absolutely amazing, especially the silk creme. it's full coverage, very creamy, oil-free, and stays on until you wash it off.
also, 9 times out of 10, the cakey look of foundation is caused not by the formula itself (although sometimes true with cheap drugstore brands) but the skin. always make sure to regularly exfoliate and MOISTURIZE beforehand, even with a light oil-free gel type, then let it sink in. to prevent cakey-ness even more, try a dimethicone-based primer, the clear kind that leaves you a smooth powdery finish.
as for any masks, try this: dissolve 4-5 uncoated aspirin tablets with a few drops of water, mix in a dollop of honey, apply and leave on for 10-15 minutes, then use it as a scrub as you rinse it off. the salicylic acid in the aspirin helps tackle acne and the humectant moisture of the honey counteracts any dryness. your skin will feel baby soft.What have you heard of Trish McEvoy, NARS, or Laura Mercier foundation?

I bought this bronzer from sephora. It's the CASINO color by NARS. I just bought it 2 weeks ago. I get pimples every now and then but all of a sudden I have broken out badly. There is really nothing special and I find it cakes a lot. I don't really like it. I really like Clinique foundations and they are only $25-30. It works really well for sensitive skin and acne prone skin. I have found that Make Up For Ever has the best foundations. Their HD foundation is amazing. Really good coverage, not cakey at all. It's very moisturizing and long lasting as well. It's also $40. Also, Laura Mercier makes amazing foundations/tinted moisturizers and concealers. They have this kits and it's like $65 and you get conclear, tinted moisturizer, primer etc. It's a great value. Don't get Bare Minerals. It's horrible, the coverage isn't really good and it makes you break out. It's different on everybody's skin type tho.

What should i use to apply nars eyeshadow?
i recently purchased nars pressed powder eyeshadow in ';strada.'; i tried using small and larger eyeshadow brushes, but when i apply the eyeshadow, it all stays in one blob, and doesn't blend or spread out. the same thing happened when i tried using a spongetip.

I'm going to NARS for the Diesel Electrician class.Will I be picked up by a Railroad?
I have 10 years experiance as a diesel electrician. Heavy equipment, military and civilian equipment used by the military. I have no criminal background except some driving violations (no DUIs). My main concern is not being considered a ';journeyman'; electrician. My experience has all been military or as a military contractor. In the military and its contract world no one is a journeyman. I'm sure NARS qualifications can't do any harm, but with the record you've listed, particularly the safety background, I doubt it's necessary for you to get the job. Safety really is the number one priority in rail company manager's minds these days, so if you have a history of safety awareness and practice that should count for a lot.
Practical experience also counts for much - something which many companies forgot in their rush for people with lots of letters behind their name, but are now starting to realise again.

I've learned to wear all colors in blush - it's an accent to the rest of your outfit - like coordinating your hosiery and shoes to compliment your outfit. So, there's not really one shade that is good for every day unless you wear the same color clothing every day. Check out the combos on the website and do not be afraid to wear any of them - you only have to use a little of it.

mac and nars are both so expensive because of the quality. mac make-up is thick and offers amazing coverage and thats why its often used by professionals and stage make-up as a long lasting, high coverage product is needed. i use mac make-up sometimes but i cant afford to keep buying it so normally ill just stick to the more affordable brands like loreal and maxfactor.
as for summer make up tips, natural eyeshadow will be very popular in 2008. this includes beiges, browns, whites and greys. light shades of plum and purple will also be seen a lot. in 2008 you will notice the amount of eyeshadow women apply to their eyelids will be reduced in comparison to recent years. overall, its best to not go heavy on brightly coloured shadows.
to achieve this look try colours in the brown family like taupes and peaches. l'oreal do some lovely neautral shades. try to somewhat coordinate your look. i dont mean your shaddow should be beige, your blush should be beige, and your lipstick should be beige. i dont mean a monotone colour, just a coordinated one.
apply primer as described previously. apply eyeliner under the eyes (above eyelashes) and a thin line above the eyes close to the eyelashes. grab your eyeshadow brush that is thinnest and dab it in the eyeshadow. raise your eyebrows, find the crease of your upper eyelid (where you might feel the bone for the top of your eye socket), and then take the brush and line it with the eyeshadow. do it as if you're holding a pencil and you're using it to draw on your eyes. do this to make a half circle above your eyes. (don't go too far out to the side of your face when doing this step).
to do the bottom part of the eyeshadow, take out your thin brushed eyeshadow brush again and dab it in your black eyeshadow. (tap it on the rim to get rid of excess eyeshadow that could fall off the brush and leave unattractive black spots of eyeshadow under your eyes or on your cheeks!) with one easy motion, start by putting the brush under your bottom lashes and sweeping it from side to side in a straight motion to create the point under the eye on both sides.
touch up by making sure no excess eyeshadow fell onto unwanted places on your face and adding a little concealer to seal the deal. and you're done!
